Cordwood Color – Garage Floor Installation in Weatherford TX

Completing a Garage Floor Renovation

1 Day Coatings is hard at work again in Weatherford, TX. We completed this garage floor installation using our Vinyl Chip System on December 22 2018 (in just one day)!

Quick tip: for a up-to-date timeline of our installations we invite you to stay tuned in our our Facebook page! We regularly use this page to post updated images as they become available from our field team.

We commonly install our 1 Day Coatings Vinyl Chip System on garage floors. In fact, this is one of the most common environments for us to install our revolutionary product. The reason being: our product can stand up tough against oil spills, abrasions, sudden impacts, water and much more. In fact, we back all of our residential installations with a solid 15-year product warranty!

Fixing a Previous Flooring System

The reason we received the call from our client was due to a failing epoxy flooring in this garage space. As you can see from our images, this floor has experienced some cracking and needing a stronger product to hold up in this environment. Therefore, our client decided to contract our team to remove the old epoxy flooring and install our premier 1 Day Coatings system!

Grinding The Floors to Create a Smooth Finish

The first step before we begin any 1 Day Coating installation is to always prep our work space for our crews. This entails cleaning our floors by grinding our floors, sweeping and vacuuming up any lose debris. We spend the proper amount of time necessary completing this process so that our Polyurea Basecoat can properly adhere to our concrete surface.

We utilize our Polyurea Repair System (CR Mender) to repair cracks throughout our concrete top layer. This helps to mend our concrete system prior to laying our base coat. It helps to strengthen the concrete and extend the lifetime of our Vinyl Chip System.

CR Mending: Fixing Floor The Floor Cracks

Secondly, in order for us to create a stable environment to install our Vinyl Chip System, we need to fill and mend the cracks in our existing concrete base. Therefore, once the concrete has been properly “ground” down to expose a fresh layer, we can fill these cracks before applying our base coat.

To complete this task, we utilize our CR Mender – which can be applied to nearly any concrete surface. This product is brilliant because it allows our crews to mend any concrete surface with a self-leveling repair system. This CR Mender has a rapid cure time that mends the top-layer of the crack with a rapid-curing “polyurea crack and spall repair material.” As stated from Penntek Coatings website (below):

Penntek’s CR Mender is a self-leveling, easy to use, and cost-effective solution for a variety of needs including cracks, pits, spalls, and structural repairs. This innovative, user-friendly system provides rapid cure time and extended pot life. The unique, versatile material ensures a successful installation in a wide variety of applications. – Penntek Coatings

Beautiful “Cordwood” Color Selection

What would any of our beautiful flooring installations be without pictures? As you can see from these images, we installed our Vinyl Chip System from front to back of this garage floor. Our client selected the Cordwood Color option which has a nice combination of tans, browns and grays.

The beauty of our Vinyl Color Chip options is their resiliency to erosion over time. Of course, it’s impossible to prevent loss or fading of color in any material in nature (due to fading pigmentation from UV light). However, our product is very resilient to tough environments and will look beautiful for years to come!

Warehouse in Tarrant County

Warehouse in Tarrant County

Large, Open Air Warehouse

Once again, 1 Day Coatings is hard at work installing another beautiful floor coating system. This time, we are installing our premier Vinyl Chip System in Tarrant County. Our client is the owner of a newly developed warehouse and selected our product to protect their floors for years to come.

Despite the large space, our crews were able to get in, prep our work space and install our quality 1 Day Coatings system in just one day.

Fresh Concrete – Sanding Things Down

As with any new 1 Day Coatings installation, half the effort involves “prepping” our work space prior to the actual application. As you can see from the images above, our crews utilize some commercial sanding equipment to remove the top layer of concrete. This includes dust, rough edges and old material. We remove this top layer of concrete in order to expose the fresh, smooth finish beneath it.

By exposing a fresh layer of concrete, we are creating a layer that bonds to our Polyurea Base Coat. In layman terms, our Polyurea Base Coat is the “glue” between your freshly exposed concrete and our Vinyl Chip Flakes. This is a crucial step in our installation process; therefore, we take the necessary time to properly prep our space for a successful installation.

Digging and Setting Our Drainage Trench

For those who are new here, 1 Day Coatings is a subsidiary of our Advocate Construction division. Under the guidance of Nathan Moore (our owner) we installed a set of channel drains inside this warehouse space. These drains are formed out of concrete and collect our water to help with moisture control and water removal.

This is a small step but speaks volumes about our desire and ability to get the job done right. We have the ability to construct new garages, repair foundations, create drainage systems and much more. All of this is so we can deliver exceptional value to our clients and provide a “one stop shop” for all of our clients needs.
